I have implemented an annual employee review of the workplace survey that is filled out and returned during review time. Once I have the surveys I tally the numerical responses and compile the comments. I then present an overview of what information I have gathered and what steps will be taken in the upcoming year at the next all staff meeting.
Our staff belong to a Labor Union. The appropriate sections of the contract are attached.
It was reviewed by our legal counsel prior to presenting to the Board for approval.
Because we have so many part time staff who do not qualify for FMLA we created a policy for them that mimics FMLA in many ways, but allows for some flexibility. We realize that like full time staff, part time staff have life situations that arise that may require more time off than a sick or vacation day can accomplish.

We are in the process of updating to address the pending FLSA changes which will drop some of our currently exempt employees to non-exempt.
