The Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS) has selected two libraries to receive RAILS Cataloging Membership Grants.
Congratulations to this year's recipients:
- Rolling Meadows Library (CCS) - $53,050.00
- Wauconda Area Public Library District (CCS) - $53,050.00
This grant aims to support resource sharing by making a library management system affordable for any library. These funds will cover the startup costs for these libraries to join a RAILS Local Library System Automation Program (LLSAP) consortium and expand the resources available to their communities.
"We’re thrilled to be joining CCS,” said Rolling Meadows Library Executive Director Jack Bower. “This grant opportunity from RAILS made it much easier for us to move forward with a decision we knew would benefit our community. We truly appreciate RAILS’ support and look forward to being connected with all of the outstanding libraries in CCS.”
“This is a great opportunity for our patrons,” said Wauconda Area Public Library District Director Elizabeth Greenup. “With this grant, we can now provide big and better collections for them. We’re opening up a whole new world of borrowing.”
“The RAILS Catalog Membership Grant is a terrific resource,” said CCS Executive Director Rebecca Malinowksi. “This program helps make resource sharing more attainable. With help from RAILS, we are expanding our membership, which will in turn, make our shared collection more viable for patrons. We can’t wait to welcome Rolling Meadows and Wauconda into CCS.”
“Congratulations to Rolling Meadows and Wauconda,” said RAILS Executive Director Monica Harris. “Resource sharing is at the heart of everything we do. The RAILS Catalog Membership Grant is a perfect example of that. We’re giving more libraries the opportunity to join together to share their collections.”
