When the new RAILS website rolls out next month, all listings on the RAILS Jobs Board will need to include the position's pay rate or range in U.S. dollars. There are several reasons to put wage information in posted jobs:

  • It promotes equity in recruiting and hiring.
  • It creates more realistic pay expectations for applicants.
  • It saves applicants' time.
  • It saves the library staff's time.

Also on the new website, search firms and recruiters will be able to log in to post and manage the job listings they create on behalf of our member libraries. We'll directly contact search firms that have regularly posted library director positions about setting up their accounts, and libraries will be able to request logins for other companies they use. Details will be available on the new website.
