Cary Area Public Library District Looks to Hire an Executive Director Search Firm

FOR PUBLIC RELEASE

15 Feb 2023

Cary, IL. The Board of Trustees of the Cary Area Public Library District (CAPLD) has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for an executive director search firm to be considered in their effort to replace the current outgoing library executive director.

The Cary Area Public Library District (Library) seeks qualified executive search firms to submit a proposal for an executive recruitment campaign for the position of Executive Director of the Library. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly qualified and experienced candidate to oversee the operations of a high-functioning library with a dedicated staff in a supportive, growing community.

The executive search firm will specialize in recruitment for senior-level and executive management positions for public libraries. To be eligible for consideration, the proposing firm must demonstrate a pattern of successful completion of similar executive recruitment campaigns specified in the RFP. Details and the RFP itself can be found at: https://www.caryarealibrary.org/library-board/

About the CAPLD The Library was originally a village library, founded in 1951 and was expanded to a district in 1995, followed by moving into a new 20,000 sq. ft. building in 1999.

The village of Cary and the surrounding served area is a medium-sized, thriving suburb with a population approaching 30,000 residents 50 miles northwest of Chicago. It is centrally located to major transportation networks and has a well-established and diverse community.
