Although open access materials are free for all, library users continue to request them through interlibrary loan (ILL). ILL staff are able to provide a service to users and a cost savings for their libraries by utilizing these materials. This program will provide an introduction to open access and demonstrate online resources for locating open access materials that can be used to fill interlibrary loan requests with a focus on grey literature and international publications.

Tina Baich is an Associate Librarian at IUPUI University Library where she is Head of Resource Sharing & Delivery Services and Bibliographic & Metadata Services. She is also the Project Coordinator for the ALIPALNI Shared Print Project. Most of Tina's writing has focused on the intersections of open access and interlibrary loan, and she has presented on this topic at state, regional, national and international conferences. She served as the 2014/2015 Chair of ALA RUSA STARS, the American Library Association's section devoted to resource sharing issues, currently co-leads the RUSA Shared Collections Interest Group, and was named the 2016 Virginia Boucher-OCLC Distinguished Interlibrary Loan Librarian.
