The Homewood Public Library seeks a creative person to work in our library Makery which houses: a Glowforge, a 3D printer, a Cricut, a Mac computer, sewing machines, a large scale printer, heat press and more.
This position requires a level of familiarity with at least one to two pieces of the equipment (Glowforge experience a plus) and some level of familiarity with the other pieces, as well as a willingness to learn and then teach others, as we continue to grow this tremendous space.
The successful candidate will have 1-3 years related experience.
Additionally, this position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
The successful candidate will work to develop programs related to use of the equipment in the space, work with appropriate staff related to use of the equipment, including collaborating with other Makery staff, as well as the marketing and programming staff and develop small scale trainings.
This is a part-time position that reports to the Library Director while working with various departments and staff as appropriate. There is the possibility of additional hours as demand increases.
