Job Description:
The Tinley Park Public Library is seeking an energetic, positive, customer service-oriented Computer Assistant. This part-time position primarily assists library patrons with the public computers and wireless network. The successful candidate will communicate clearly and courteously with library users and staff, demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, and think quickly on their feet. The ability to provide consistent and friendly service to library patrons of all ages is a must.
The Computer Assistant reports to the Adult Services Assistant Manager and is part of the Adult Services Department, a friendly and dedicated team that provides exceptional customer service in a comfortable, welcoming space.
We require an exceptional working knowledge of:
- Computer and mobile device operations
- The internet and web applications
- Wireless networks
- Microsoft Office applications
Experience with:
- Creative apps (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Green screen technology
- Rapid learning of new hardware/software is highly desirable

Job Hours:
Part-time
- Monday & Wednesday evenings: 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
- Alternate weekends:
- Saturday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Sunday: 11:45 am – 5:00 pm

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year of work experience
- Formal classwork in computer-related subjects
- Extensive hands-on experience and working knowledge of:
- Latest Windows OS and macOS Ventura
- Office 2021
- Audio-visual presentation equipment (e.g., microphones, display projectors)
