We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Business Office Assistant to support our administrative and financial operations. In this role, you will assist with a variety of business office functions that help keep the library running smoothly. Responsibilities include preparing reports, maintaining documentation for license plate service, and supporting IMRF reporting. You will work closely with library staff and our outsourced accounting vendor to maintain financial records, process accounts payable and accounts receivable, assist with the annual audit process, and contribute to monthly and annual reporting.
This position offers a flexible, part-time schedule with a combination of daytime hours and occasional evenings or weekends. The workload is predictable and manageable with clear responsibilities and realistic expectations. You will be part of a collaborative and friendly team that values communication, respect, and work-life balance. The library also offers a prorated benefits package for part-time staff, including paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and paid family leave.
The ideal candidate should be able to manage multiple responsibilities reliably, communicate clearly, and work both independently and as part of a team. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as prior experience.
Desired qualifications include college-level coursework or experience in business, accounting, finance, or a related field. Our ideal employee pays strong attention to detail, can confidently use a computer, and is willing to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.

The pay range for this position is $17.11 to $25.67 per hour. Offers will likely be made between the range minimum and midpoint based on competencies, experience, and internal equity.
