Leadership & Administration

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to set annual goals aligned with the library’s mission
  • Develop and manage the communications department budget
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate communications staff and interns
  • Assist in developing short- and long-term strategic plans

Marketing & Public Relations

  • Plan and execute media relations strategies to increase visibility
  • Write and distribute press releases, pitch stories, and coordinate interviews
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media contacts
  • Create and manage content for newsletters, social media, and the website
  • Design promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and brochures
  • Submit marketing content to local media outlets and online platforms
  • Support community outreach initiatives and represent the library at events
  • Conduct surveys to assess community needs and satisfaction

Additional Duties

  • Attend internal meetings and contribute to organizational initiatives
  • Assist with policy and procedure development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with social media platforms and website management
  • Familiarity with graphic design or desktop publishing tools
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Reliable transportation for community events
