Description: Performs a variety of tasks related to the circulation and processing of materials. As a member of the Guest Services team, this position delivers the best level of customer service and helps maintain a safe, clean and pleasant environment for all visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides quality customer service, sometimes under stressful conditions.
- Understands and applies the library policies and procedures while safeguarding confidential and restricted information.
- Responsible for patron checkouts, returns, and account management including resolving issues with accounts and materials and handling payments.
- Assists patrons with the use of the self-check, Simple Scan, copier machine and other equipment.
- Responsible for processing of new library materials.
- Helps manage and input shared bibliographic records.
- Accepts deliveries and sorts mail and packages.
- Serves as a Passport Acceptance Agent and takes passport photos.
- Supports the training and coaching of our Guest Services Clerks.
- Helps keep staff and public areas neat and orderly.
- Performs opening and closing procedures.
- Participates in library outreach events.
- May serve as the person in charge of the building.
- Ability to learn new technology programs and operations as they are developed, including knowledge and use of computers and various hardware/software applications.
- Attend meetings and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications:
- High School Degree required.
- Meet requirements to be a Passport Acceptance Agent.
- Strong preference for bilingual abilities (Spanish).
- Ability to communicate effectively to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff and the public.
- May require day, evening, and weekend hour availability.
