Teen Associate

Salary: $18.08-$27.13/hr, DOQ

If you can answer yes to all of these questions then come join the Lansing Public Library’s Youth Services team to help give teens a new and fresh perspective on the public library. 

We are actively seeking a Teen Associate brimming with creativity, passion, and a genuine connection to our community's tweens and teens. As a team member, you will spend time at the youth service desk, orchestrate and lead exciting programs, and interact with our vibrant afterschool tweens. Your role extends beyond the library walls, contributing to our overarching mission of nurturing literacy and serving as the cultural hub of our community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree preferred. Minimum of two years in an adolescent-related degree program from an accredited college.
  • 1 year experience working with teens in grades 6th-12th.
  • Some experience with an automated ILS, preferably SirsiDynix
  • Must work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Background check required.

Compensation:

This part-time position offers a pay range of $18.08-$27.13 per hour. Compensation is determined based on how well a candidate’s experience and qualifications align with the responsibilities and requirements of the position. Most offers are expected to fall within the base to mid-range, depending on relevant experience and job requirements.
