RAILS is aware that Baker & Taylor has begun the process of winding down operations with the intent of closing by the end of the year. We are sorry about the far-reaching loss of a library industry leader and wish our colleagues at Baker & Taylor all the best.
We recognize the impact that this will have on our eRead Illinois members who utilize the Boundless platform by Baker & Taylor. RAILS is committed to continuing to offer a high-quality e-book and audiobook collection for libraries across Illinois.
Currently, the Boundless platform remains intact, although we are not able to purchase additional content. In the coming weeks, we will be transitioning the eRead Illinois collection away from Boundless to an alternative platform. Any necessary updates will be communicated through RAILS channels.
