Starting Tuesday, January 30, 2024 RAILS will be working on a project to replace all network cables in the Burr Ridge Service Center. This project is expected to take 2-3 weeks to complete. The timeline is as follows:

  • Start date: Tuesday, January 30
  • End date: Tuesday, February 20 (tentative, could be sooner)

During the project duration, RAILS staff will work from home as much as possible and the building will be closed to all outside groups. Due to Open Meetings Act restrictions, we may need to open the facility for RAILS Board Committee meetings.

This work will not impact any other RAILS service center. The work will not impact the RAILS website, or web-based services (like eRead Illinois, Find More Illinois, or Explore More Illinois).

RAILS employees based out of Burr Ridge will continue to be available via phone and email during regular business hours. Delivery services will be unaffected by the closure. RAILS staff will continue to receive regular mail delivery at Burr Ridge.

RAILS will post a news article when the office has re-opened for meetings. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
