Networking Groups

The directory below includes networking and educational groups in which people at RAILS libraries are organizers or participants.

People who are listed as group contacts are able to edit their group information. Login required to view contacts.

Networking groups that meet regularly may be eligible for a Zoom license provided by RAILS. Groups may also request their own email list for member communications.

Three RAILS service centers are available for in-person meetings; Burr Ridge location, East Peoria location, and Coal Valley location.  People who are listed as group contacts are able to make room reservations for a networking group meeting. Room registrations are made in L2 by going to Account/ My Groups/ Add A Group Event.

Groups can also be set up as event sponsors on the Library Directory & Learning Calendar (L2) site for the purpose of adding meetings and other events to the L2 Calendar. Contact RAILS for details.

Digital Equity

Libraries have a crucial role in bridging the digital divide. We provide access to the internet and connected devices, offer digital skills training, and keep patrons informed about new technology. Join this group to discuss barriers that stand in the way of digital equity, find resources, and share ideas for helping your local communities participate in the digital economy. All Illinois library workers are welcome. 

This group is looking for a new convener or two to facilitate meetings and listserv discussions. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact Jessica Silva (jessica.silva@railslibraries.org) and/or Anne Slaughter (anne.slaughter@railslibraries.org) for more information.
