The Accessibility Networking Group connects public libraries with organizations supporting disabled communities in Lake and northern Cook counties. We believe that strong partnerships between libraries and accessibility organizations inform, strengthen, and expand opportunities for our shared community.
This month, we’ll hear spotlight presentations from C.I.T.Y. of Support and the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association. We’ll also meet Anthony Elder, creator of StimeezTM Emotion Explorers—a sensory-informed character toy set designed to support emotional regulation.
Following the presentations, we’ll engage in a sharing of sensory and communication tools. If you’d like, please bring examples of tools you have found useful for expanding accessibility and inclusion within your organization. As always, we’ll also provide time for connections and networking.
