The Fox River Valley Public Library District’s Public Relations team earned second-place honors in the 2026 National Association of Government Communicators Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards.
The library was recognized in the Campaign Under $100,000 category for its Fox Box youth reading program and in the Newsletter category.
Presented annually, the Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards recognize excellence in government communications among local, state, federal, tribal, and military agencies. Entries are judged by communications professionals from across the country and honor outstanding projects produced during the previous calendar year.
The national recognition comes during a milestone year for the library as it celebrates its 150th anniversary.
“It is such a tremendous honor to have our PR work recognized on a national level. I’m so proud to be part of this amazing team and to help showcase the talents of our graphic designer, Dan Mitchell, and social media coordinator, Lindsey Gurgul. Their creativity and dedication truly know no limits, and I continue to be inspired by every marketing piece they share with our library community,” said Corinne Vargas, Public Relations & Outreach Manager.
This national award highlights the library’s continued commitment to serving its community and finding new and engaging ways to connect residents with library resources, programs, and services.
