Emily Fister.

RAILS Executive Assistant Emily Bailey will retire on Friday, July 11, 2025, after eleven years of service at the library system.

Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Elmhurst University and began her career in local government at West Central Municipal Conference. She honed her administrative skills at the law firm of Ancel Glink, Village of Westchester, and BEDS Homeless Shelter before coming to RAILS as Executive Assistant in 2013.

At RAILS, Emily managed the administrative team, diligently working to improve the day-to-day experience for all RAILS employees and board members. Emily ran a tight ship in the department, supporting leadership, juggling calendars, and managing resources with precision—all while cracking a joke or two.

"RAILS is a wonderful place to work. The members, those who have served on the board and committees, and all of my colleagues have contributed to my success at RAILS,” said Emily. “Our commitment to connecting libraries has been very gratifying. Fight the good fight! Read banned books!”

RAILS wishes Emily a happy retirement, full of travel and new adventures with friends and family. Thank you for your years of great spirit, leadership, and dedication!
