We have a very outdated children's collection in need of a little upgrade. While we have a book budget, the budget is intended to purchase materials for the university students. We have an amazing College of Education where we are training incredible teachers and we have an onsite daycare where we also host story times in the library for these classes. Very often, the materials we use during story times are usually ILLs from other libraries.

Most of the materials in our children's collection are from public library weeding piles or from the 1960s-1990s. And while we are incredibly grateful to have these materials, I am wondering if other libraries would be willing to donate any leftover popular materials that are either not being sold in their book sales or simply donated materials that you don't plan to place in the collection due to overcrowding.

I would be happy to pick up the materials on my own time. I'm just trying to be creative in expanding our collection with materials that are not from the previous century... I'm working on grant applications and with the alumnae office, but I thought I would ask here too. Thank you for considering this request!
