Schaumburg Township District Library is strengthening and expanding its leadership structure by promoting Stephanie Driscoll to Deputy Director of Public Services and Amy Prochot to Deputy Director of Operations, both effective September 7.
This decision comes as the Library continues to expand its work across its three locations while planning for future community needs. The new leadership structure reflects the Library’s planning for its next chapter, including exploring improvements to its branch locations, investing in services and spaces across the District, and growing the work of its newly established Foundation.
“Our community expects a lot from its Library, and they should,” said Executive Director Annie Miskewitch. “Our job is to keep listening to our patrons’ needs and wants and to make sure we have the people and structure in place to deliver on them well.”
Stephanie Driscoll joined the Library in 2017 as its first Creative Services Librarian. Since then, she has grown along with the Library, moving into the roles of Programs and Exhibits Manager and, most recently, Learning and Outreach Director. Her work has included expanding exhibits and all-ages programming and leading community-focused initiatives designed to create opportunities for learning and connection.
As a leader, Stephanie is known for bringing people together, encouraging new ideas, and turning those ideas into action. As Deputy Director of Public Services, she will assume a broader leadership role, supporting the Library’s public service departments and collaborating with staff across the organization.
Amy Prochot joined the Library in April 2026 as Director of Operations, overseeing the Facilities and Public Safety Departments. Her experience spans public libraries and commercial property management, where she has led teams focused on creating safe, welcoming spaces, maintaining and improving facilities, preparing for emergencies, supporting technology, and strengthening day-to-day operations. She also served a term as a Trustee for the Gail Borden Public Library District, providing another perspective on library leadership and service.
As Deputy Director of Operations, Prochot will oversee the systems, facilities, collections, and other behind-the-scenes functions that keep Library services running smoothly. Her role comes at an important time as the Library continues significant facility planning and improvements across its three locations.
For Miskewitch, these promotions are also about recognizing the kind of leadership she believes is important for the Library’s future.
“Stephanie and Amy are both exceptional at taking an idea, managing the details, and following through,” Miskewitch said. “They care about the community and are willing to roll up their sleeves, work through the details, and see things through from beginning to end. That matters tremendously as we look at where our Library is headed next.”
The new structure will allow the Library to strengthen coordination across departments and with staff, and to continue moving forward on both immediate priorities and longer-term planning.
