Moraine Valley Community College Library is hosting weekly field trips to our library for 8 weeks in summer. Accompanied by camp counselors, the summer camp kids, ages 5-12, walk over to the library to read kids books, play board games, color or draw, and work on puzzles. The books for the littlest ones have been temporarily moved from downstairs to the upstairs front library lounge area and the books for the older kid's are located in our coffee bar area. Three different age groups have staggered times to visit and stay approximately 30 minutes but the kids like to stay longer. Every year, our librarians add to our juvenile collection based on recommendations they receive from the kids. Last summer, the kids wrote thank you notes to our library staff welcoming them into our space. Both the kids and library staff enjoy spending time together!
